A household of Christian men

Summary: I would like to live in a house with a group of men of different ages and social situations who share a common life of prayer and devotion that is compatible with the demands of our vocations.
Ideas for what a men's household of prayer could be.
+ the people: a group of men who share a common life of prayer
  - a passion to know and love God
  - seeking a vision of what God is doing
and what role He would have us play.
+ the place:
  - a house of prayer and work
  - a house of learning and study
  - a house of hospitality
  - a house of service
+ the environment:
  - time and space structured with care and deliberation to foster:
    - edifying community life
    - good habits
    - focused and strategic application of time and energy
    - productive work
    - simplicity
    - reflection
+ shared activities:
  - enough common activity to have a common life,
but not so much that the time consumed interferes
with the demands of our work or service in the world.
In particular, I am a graduate student studying math.
  - specific common activities:
    - daily morning prayer and devotion (maybe 25 minutes)
    - meals together (maybe a couple times per week)
    - common fasting and prayer (maybe once/month or once/week)
  - shared conversation
    - could have a common notebook, a forum for conversation
      and visions.
+ possible physical arrangements:
  - rooms/cells for sleeping and private prayer and study
  - study areas
    - common bookshelves/library
    - desks and tables
    - shared computer resources
  - common area: room for reading, meditation, prayer, and
      conversations with guests.
    - model: fireside apartment building
+ behavior patterns
  + desired atmosphere:
    - love for one another and care for the world around us
    - respect
    - thoughtfulness
  + desired behaviors and conditions:
    - to be a passionate community of learners
    - to have profitable conversation
    - to have profitable silence
  + feared behaviors:
    - behaviors that kill passion
      - complacency
      - frivolity
      - silliness
      - cynicism
    - behaviors that kill unity
      - conflict
        - striving
        - willfulness
        - resentment
        - avoidance
      - disengagement
    - confusion about spheres of responsibility
+ authority organization
  - need to think about this.
  - for a house to take on responsibilities,
it needs to have some kind of organization to
ensure that others are there to step in if one person
    falters under his burden.
  - simple organization is more effective for smaller groups.
  - need to define spheres of responsibility.
  - should recognize the value of age and experience.
