Hypoxia Example ASRS Reporter, January, 2000
- As I was in level flight at FL230,
- My oxygen tubing came off the regulator.
- I reached behind the seat to reattach it, but
- Could not quite reach the nozzle.
- I felt symptoms of hypoxia coming on, so
- I turned off the autopilot,
- Pulled back the power,
- And passed out.
- I awoke in a gentle left turn at 17,000 ft.
- I called Center and got clearance to land immediately at the nearest airport.
