Heat

Heat stress is a special problem in desert environments, especially for soaring pilots, who spend long periods before or after flights on the ground in the sun. The principles are: - Scant clothing improves heat loss, but increases solar exposure: long-sleeved white shirts and long white pants and a tennis hat are recommended - Shade is better than clothing... - Continual water drinking is essential to good function. We'll cover this under "hydration."
