Salty Food Makes Extra Urine

• Extra salt in food or beverages must be balanced by drinking extra water.
• Extra salt and water must be gotten rid of
  • This takes about 3 days.
• Salt is excreted using water.
  • (You probably knew this.)
• Thus taking extra salt increases:
  • hydration needs - the water you must pack in
  • excretion load - the number of baggies you fill.
