Prince Edward Island, ON

The history of southern Ontario along the northeast shore of the lake is the history of an unjust rebellion against the King which cost thousands of his loyal subjects their lands and often their possessions. They fled north across the lake, where they created fertile farms and built forts to protect themselves from their ambitious and greedy neighbors to the south.

Do you think that there is any doubt in these parts about the faithfulness of the settlers to the Crown? Or their view of the neighbors to the south?

This is how the photographer entertains himself while waiting for the ferry, which we watched pull away as we arrived at the dock. But, as 2nd in line, we got on and off quickly when our turn came. A loyal line of weekend tourists, transitioning onto Price Edward Island, Lake Ontario.
