The trail to Point Lace Falls. This might be Whale Back Mountain in the distance, but we're close to the edge of my map.

We're looking north along the Yoho Valley, just beyond Takakkaw Falls. A tiny piece of the Daly Glacier peeks out along the ridge line at upper left; the walking trail disappears into the forest at lower left. The rain showers have gone off to the southeast, to inconvenience others.

In the distance, Cathedral Mountain (3189m / 10460ft); in the foreground, the trail back from Point Lace Falls. Center disance, Mount Stephen (3199m / 10494ft). At right, Wapta Mountain (2778m / 9112ft).

I looked this one up and then forgot the name. It was at the side of the path to Takakkaw Falls, and seemed very happy about having its picture taken. Everyone else passed it by on their way to snap shots at the base of the falls.

Scattered around in the woods are these lovely little bushes adorned with cottony tufts. I haven't looked it up yet, don't know what it is...

A yellow flower that wants looking up. The magenta highlights in the shade are the reason I don't use Fuji film very much.

In this rocky meadow, and other similar places, there thrives a grass that puts forth a delicate tufted seed head.

Takakkaw Falls leaps and plunges from the cliffs, cloud shadows move across the mountain's flanks; rain clouds move along to the southeast. Vegetation slowly, inexorably begins to cover the rocky till, 60 days a year growing, 3 months exposed to avalanches. The view is to the southeast from the hiking trail, about 2 km north of the falls.
