This page is for announcements that are relevant beyond the next time we meet.
Today we begin the most intense sequence of lessons of the course, lessons 17 through 28. This material builds, like climbing a ladder. It will be very important for you to stay on top of the material and clear up any residual misunderstanding at the beginning of each lecture.
On Wed we will have a quiz on Lesson 7 (circles). On Fri we will have a quiz on Lesson 3 (factoring). On Tue we have the first midterm!
People in my noon lecture (lecture 8) are welcome and invited to attend or switch into my later lecture (lecture 10 at 1:20 in B333). My lecture 8 is quite full, whereas my lecture 10 is much smaller.
Mathlab is now open! Mathlab is in B227 Van Vleck and is open Mon–Thu 3:30-8:30pm and Sun 3:30-6:50pm.
This is a great environment to work on your homework. If you get stuck there are teaching assistants who can answer your questions. I recommend going there with a study partner.
As of Friday we will have missed quizzes for
lesson 3: factoring and simplification and lesson 5: midpoint and distance formulas (lecture 8)If you simply do and understand all the problems in the workbook for those lessons you should be prepared for a quiz on them. The lesson 5 quiz should be quickest and the lesson 3 quiz should be longest, so I'll choose the lesson to quiz you on based on how pressed for time we are on the particular day.
