Medical Certification is loosely enforced

• There are no FAA medical police: ramp checks are rare, and even if your medical certificate is checked, your medical record is not.

• We know that some pilots fly without medicals

• We know that some pilots lie to their AME and on the pilot-physical 8500-8 form, mostly through omission.

• If you do possess a medical certificate, no one knows whether you've developed a disqualifying condition. (It's medically confidential!)

• But... If you have assets, or purchase insurance and falsify, then crash into Aunt Martha's house, you may be stripped bare by Aunt Martha or her surviving family.
