How to Experience Hypoxia

• Ascend to a high altitude
  • Decompression is the quick way...
• Get a lung disorder
  • Pneumonia, emphysema, etc. (slower)
• Become anemic
  • Not enough boxcars to carry the freight...
• Breathe carbon monoxide
  • Fill the boxcars with the wrong freight, lock 'em.
• Smoke (3 - 7% carbon monoxide)
• Hyperventilate
  • Alkalosis decreases oxygen release.
• Step on your oxygen tubing
  • Make sure the system is working...
