Summary of the Aims of the Initial
Special-Issuance process
You have a condition that is disqualifying
- But is not incapacitating – but could be.
Your job is to provide medical evidence
- that you are unlikely to become incapacitated by your disqualifying condition
- That you are getting proper medical treatment and monitoring, to ensure no incapacitation
The FAA will give you very exact guidance on what to provide, and when.
- All you need to do is follow directions
- And help your doctor follow directions with you
Your doctor is probably as clueless about this as you are!
