First Special Issuance
for a Medical Condition (2)
Consult an AME (An EAA Pilot-Advocate AME?)
- Expect your records to be insufficiently detailed, or incomplete
- Encourage the AME to telephone the Regional Flight Surgeon with questions (they are incredibly helpful)
After you're confident you have all the needed data in place, then have a flight physical, with deferral of your certificate. Get a copy of the 8500-8
Express all the records with a copy of your 8500-8 to OKC under a cover letter requesting special issuance.
(The Regional Flight Surgeon's office may work the case, in which case your AME will give you that address or fax records)
