The Letter of Authorization

• “You are not qualified” - but …

• You are being exceptionally certified...

• This has a particular duration (up to 6 years)

• This may have limited privileges

• Regular medical reports are required

• For some conditions, an AME may issue if required medical evidence is presented at or before the flight physical

• A flight physical may not be required for recertification (Flight physicals need be done only at normal times)
